Message from the Tournament Director
It is with honor and great pleasure that I extend to you my personal invitation to participate in the 2009 Yushen Lai's Invitational TKD Championship. This championship is sanctioned by the CUTA and it will be incorporating the State Competitor Ranking System, the Official Points Scoring System, which will award competitors for Poomsae, Kyoroogi & Competition Poomsae to 1st place winners 300 points, 200 points to 2nd and 100 points to 3rd. Competitors' names and points will be posted on the CUTA website www.cutkda.com under three different categories, Poomsae, Kyoroogi & Competition Poomsae.
This year the Yushen Lai's Invitational TKD Championship will celebrate its 12th anniversary. This tournament has always been known as one of the most well organized championships and what really makes us stand above the rest is our unique Automated Match Scheduling (AMS) system coupled with electronic scoring and padded rings.
As you all may know, events produced by my team are well known for their use of the Automated Match Scheduling (AMS) System. The system eliminates the staging area process and makes it unnecessary to leave children waiting there for hours. To make the tournament even better, more efficient and fair, all rings will be equipped with electronic scoring system.
The following outlines the AMS System:
- Most non-computerized tournaments use a manual method of matching individuals, which is often slow, confusing, and frustrating for competitors, spectators and staff.
- Computerized matching reduces the confusion and delays by informing competitors & spectators of ring assignments, chest guard color, and approximate time of competition.
- Competitors are checked-in and assigned matches for the tournament prior to arriving at the venue.
- Greatly reduces the number of man-hours needed at the time of the event by volunteers/staff.
- Makes sure athletes are assigned to their correct division.
- All competitors are given "Competitor cards" prior to entering the competition floor with all personal information on each card.
Information includes, but is not limited to:- Name
- Date of Birth / Age
- Weight
- Belt
- School Name & number
- Poomsae group number & competition ring number
- Kyoroogi bout numbers, competition ring number and color of chest guard.
