Grandmaster Lai & Master Danny Gonzalez have completed a Taekwondo Training Tour to Korea
Grandmaster Lai, the Secretary General of the California Unified Taekwondo Association (CUTA), the official state organization for USA-Taekwondo, together with CUTA President Pyoung Hoe Koo, organized an 11 day Taekwondo Training and Cultural Enrichment tour to Korea. Funding was provided by Mr. Sung Woo Park of the Korean Cultural Center of Los Angeles. Twenty-two California representatives which consisted of eight masters, an instructor, eight members of Demonstration Team M, and five sparring winners from the Jimmy Kim International Championship. The CUTA was one of the first delegations to visit the Taekwondo Park Headquarters in the county of Muju in Jeollabuk-do Province, South Korea.
The eleven day excursion consisted of numerous tours of the peninsula, elegant dinners with Governors and Mayors, and comprehensive Forms, Sparring, and Demonstration Clinics at the Kukkiwon and Keimyung University. All Masters received diplomas and certification from world renowned Grandmaster Kyu Hyung Lee (1988 Olympic Demonstration Master) and the staff of the President of the World Taekwondo Federation, Chungwon Choue.
The highlight of the trip, however, was the visit to Muju County. Muju is the region that was selected for the construction of the new Taekwondo Theme Park Facility. Muju is known as the "natural" county, whereas the region prides themselves as being far removed from city life. This region is also famous for their firefly festivals. The Park will be 570 acres and span across 9 valleys.
Grandmaster Lai is planning to bring a group of students to train at the Muju Taekwondo Park upon opening day in 2013.

The Special FREE Self-Defense Course has been extended into the fall for parents who have their son/daughter as active students at the academy. ($40/per month for non-academy members).
This course will be taught by Grandmaster Lai and Sr. Master Perry Okimoto & Sr. Master Danny Gonzalez.
Parents will get the benefits of learning practical self-defense techniques for any unforeseen situation, in addition to physical fitness, body conditioning. This special training will include cardiovascular exercises, muscle development and stamina, mental focus as well as Martial Art principles and philosophies.
Curriculum: Blocking, Striking, Kicking, Ground Fighting, Techniques Against Weapons Attack, Rape Prevention Techniques, etc.
Training Schedule: Saturday 10:00-11:30 AM
Training Attire: Academy T-Shirt
First Class Starts Saturday 6/13/09 & continues through the fall

The Academy is also offering OUTDOOR Training for students during the summer every Saturday from 10-11:30 AM while their parents are training in Self-Defense Class.
